In January of 2010 the NJSPCA received a complaint  from Flemington Township Animal Control regarding a deceased horse found  behind a dumpster. The NJSPCA responded to the complaint along with Animal Control Officer Vogel. During the course of the  investigation it was discovered that the deceased horse was being cared for by a Mr. Gashi Salih while the owners, where traveling in Florida.   Mr. Salih stated that the horse stop eating and was sick, in which resulted in the horse dying.  On March 27, 10  Agent Amato charged Mr. Salih with both criminal and civil charges for failure  to provide necessary sustenance.  On July 12, 2010 Mr. Salih plead  guilt and was fined $1,000.00 and restitution in the amount of $417.63
